PackMojo Limited, a custom printed packaging manufacturer that has supplied custom printed boxes to brands since 2018 across more than 40 packaging products, today launched a trading card packaging range built for graded slabs, booster boxes and card decks, with production runs starting at 300 units. The range fits slabs from PSA, BGS, CGC and SGC, and follows a year in which major authenticators graded 26.8 million cards, a 32% increase on 2024, according to grading tracker GemRate.
The growth has shifted away from sports. GemRate recorded 16.8 million trading card game and non-sports cards graded in 2025, up 95% year over year, against 10 million sports cards, down 12%. Trading card games and non-sports grading now outweigh sports. Each graded card is returned sealed in a rigid plastic case known as a slab, and slabs need secondary packaging cut to their dimensions.
“Trading card game grading rose 95% last year while sports card grading fell, and most packaging in this category was designed around sports cards,” said Wendy Chan, co-founder and chief executive officer of PackMojo. “We set production runs at 300 units so a card breaker or an independent studio can order packaging cut to its own slab dimensions without committing to tens of thousands of boxes.”
The range separates into two systems. Universal foam inserts hold standard slabs from several grading companies interchangeably, which suits sellers holding mixed inventory. Custom inserts are cut to one specific slab type or card layout. Box formats include magnetic rigid boxes, two-piece lift-off boxes, tuck-end folding cartons for decks, and counter display units for local game store shelves. Inserts are produced in high-density EVA foam, flexible PU foam or corrugated board.
“Slab dimensions vary between grading companies, so a cavity cut for one case will let another move,” said Wendy Chan. “We cut inserts to a tolerance of a few millimeters against the specific slab a customer ships, and we send a physical prototype before production so the fit is confirmed rather than assumed.”
The range is aimed at card breakers, auction houses, hobby shops and trading card game publishers, including independent studios taking a first print run to retail. Custom trading card boxes and slab packaging are available now, and buyers configure packaging, download dieline templates, request quotes and order physical prototypes through PackMojo’s custom printed boxes platform. Standard production lead times run 12 to 16 days. Paper-based materials carry at least 50% post-consumer content and print with soy-based inks, and PackMojo holds FSC certification under license code FSC-C198591.
