September 15 04:47 2020

18 year old Tadgh Quill-Manley from Kerry Pike, Cork, Ireland has started his own social networking site by the name of – The Cooperative Social Network., also known as, uses the co-operative model of business at its centre of operation.

Young Mr. Quill-Manley is already the author of 9 critically acclaimed books on people and community orientated economics and takes it ‘very seriously’. In addition to he has recently started 4 small consumer co-operatives on e-commerce, including one which aims to address prices hikes of over 1000% for PPE following the COVID-19 outbreak. He was recently made a Director of a Housing Association.

On, Quill-Manley said that “rabble rousing was never going to change anything in relation to Facebook’s practices. It was time to be industrious and most importantly, it was time for a social networking site that put people at the heart of the service.”

He also stressed the importance of both re-examining the fundamentals and changing the characteristics of the digital economy, stating that “too often social media sites turn the people into the product, as opposed to the site being the product in itself. Misleading behaviour such as profiteering from private data at the expense of ordinary people and their families threatens the moral fabric of our society.”

When quizzed on the potential of the project, he replied “I never assume anything or get ahead of myself. I like to keep my head down – humility is important. There are children starving in Africa and I’m extremely grateful to be where I am. I thank God everyday for it. What I do think though is that one must work hard and use their head as well as their hands.”
